Take a Deep Breath

Rev. David Baak

Sunday, December 27, 2015

Luke 4.41-52 is the traditional reading for the Sunday after Christmas: Jesus in the Temple at age 12….where, when his parents finally found him, one can imagine that they “took a deep breath.” At the end of a chaotic, distressing and violent year, how do we move forward into what promises to be at least as complicated a time as has been the past? Take a deep breath. Jesus, confident, a “non-anxious presence” gives us hope for the future and a model for our behavior. Join us for the 11:00am service.
