Hunters, Help Fight Hunger

community food club food pantry Mission
Friday, September 25, 2015

Please remember our Downtown Food Pantry and Community Food Club this hunting season!

Hunters, consider donating your ground venison that has been processed, sealed, and dated by a licensed facility. When you donate your meat, the cost of processing is tax-deductible.

Quality meat is cost-prohibitive for the pantry and for clients, so donated venison is particularly helpful. Venison is a healthy, extra-lean protein that is sustainable, low in cholesterol, and free of antibiotics or steroids.

When sharing the donated meat, we'll hand out easy venison recipes to clients to encourage them to try venison in everyday recipes like chili, spaghetti, etc.

For more information on how to donate, contact Heather Colletto, Minister for Mission, at heatherc@wpcgr.org or 616-717-5536. She can connect you with other Westminster hunters to share their experience donating meat and answer any questions you may have.

Downtown Food Pantry Partners with Meijer for Simply Give Holiday Campaign

  News Updates food pantry Pantry
Tuesday, November 4, 2014

The Downtown Food Pantry has partnered with Meijer for the Simply Give Holiday Campaign at the 28th Street and Kalamazoo store from November 2nd through January 3rd.

The partnership is a tremendous opportunity for the Downtown Pantry. Meijer has provided them with $10 donation cards that can be handed out to our congregation. November 14th and 15th are DOUBLE MATCH days! For every $10 donated at this store on these 2 days, Meijer will donate an additional $20 resulting in $30 to our pantry. It's not often that you can triple your money so easily, so please take advantage of this!  It is important to note that it is ONLY the 28th Street and Kalamazoo store that we are partnered with.

A portion of the proceeds will be shared with the Central Reformed Food Pantry, a sub-pantry of the Downtown Food Pantry.
