Your wedding at Westminster

Your wedding should be a happy and joyous occasion shared by your family and friends. The staff of Westminster stands ready to help.

We hope to make your wedding or commitment service a special and meaningful experience. Marriage and commitment services are a covenant relationship; the ceremony is first and foremost a religious and holy service with deep spiritual significance. Thus, the ceremony is designed as a worship experience.

We perform weddings for Westminster members

Our wedding coordinator is happy to work with members of Westminster and their families in the planning of their wedding. Westminster is not currently performing or hosting weddings for non-members.

Please note that Westminster Presbyterian Church clergy or approved Presbyterian pastors officiate wedding services at Westminster; visiting clergy may assist with prior approval—please contact us for full details.

The cost for a wedding/commitment service is $1300.

What’s included in our costs:

  • Facility: Use of the facility for both the rehearsal and the day of wedding, including five hours of building use. This typically includes 1-2 hours for the rehearsal and up to 4 hours on the day of the ceremony—includes time before, during, and after the ceremony. Additional time is charged at a rate of $100 per hour, to be paid in advance.
  • Staff fees: This includes the minister’s honorarium, the minister of music, wedding coordinators, custodial staff, and sound and video technicians.

To secure the date of your wedding, a non-refundable deposit of $500 is required. Once a date is scheduled, the couple will receive a booklet of information about weddings at Westminster and ceremony arrangement forms to be filled out and returned to the church. The remaining balance must be received three weeks prior to your ceremony date; you will be billed by the church at the appropriate time.

There are two venues available at Westminster:

  1. The sanctuary: The sanctuary holds up to 800 people. The sanctuary has a large pipe organ, high-definition video cameras, pew-style seating, and a full sound system. There are no projectors or screens in the sanctuary.
  2. The chapel: The chapel holds up to 100 people. The chapel has a small pipe organ, sound system, high-definition video projector, and chair seating.

You are encouraged to call our wedding coordinator, Becky Stein-Wells at or 616-717-5532, to schedule a tour of the church and to check for availability of the facility.
