Children’s Choirs

Children’s choirs

Westminster Presbyterian Church features three dynamic youth choirs, for preschoolers through fifth grade. Children’s choir programs are integrated with the Sunday morning education hour, providing children with an opportunity for multidisciplinary learning while easing scheduling stress on families.

Carol Choir

The Carol Choir is open to children in third through fifth grades. The group participates in regular worship services once a month, and during rehearsal, sings folk and game songs as well as religious anthems. Rehearsals are Sunday, as part of the education hour—which runs from 9:30–10:45a. The Cantus Choir is directed by Luanne K. Barnes.

Cherub Choir

First and second graders can take part in the Cherub Choir, which participates in regular worship services once a month. Folk and game songs are part of this choir's repertoire. Rehearsals are Sunday, as part of the education hour—which runs from 9:30–10:45a. The Cherub Choir is directed by Luanne K. Barnes.

Cantus Choir

Kindergarten and four-year old children are introduced to the music ministry through the Cantus Choir. Children in Cantus Choir learn religious, folk, and game songs. They take part in regular worship services, and at Christmas, Easter, and other special services. Rehearsals are Sunday, as part of the education hour—which runs from 9:30–10:45a. The Cantus Choir is directed by Cara Hyink.
