Working with 6th–12th grade young people and their families, we focus on the concerns of youth in their daily lives and in their future, incorporating Christ’s love and teaching.
Our mission is to provide a community where youth feel accepted and loved, where faith can be explored and questioned, and where a broad base of biblical knowledge is learned — a community where youth can learn, be challenged, have fun, and actively participate in the Christian faith.
Youth are encouraged to be involved in the church at large and in an array of relational ministries centered around:
- Prayer & Worship
- Justice & Service
Both Middle School and High School Youth Groups offer a variety of ways for youth to connect with each other and with God. Here are just a few examples of the events that happen during the year:
- Youth Group – Meets most Sunday afternoons during the school year
- Retreats to Camp Henry
- Summer Trips – Service Learning/Mission Trips and Spiritual Growth/Adventure Trips
- Youth Sunday
- Weekly Prayer Breakfasts for High School
If you are in either Middle School or High School you’re welcome to join us anytime. There are no requirements, prerequisites, or rules in order to be a part of our groups. You do not even need to be Presbyterian. Our hope is that we can be Christian towards you no matter where you are coming from.
Assessing our program
Our youth ministry is a vital component of Westminster’s life as a community of faith, and we’re constantly investing in it to ensure we’re doing our work well. In 2013, Ministry Architects—a church consulting group—concluded a three-day assessment of Westminster’s youth ministry. The group presented the church with a 26-page report about the ministry, its strengths, and its needs.
