In August we communicated our intention to slow down the discernment process regarding proposed changes to our sanctuary stained-glass window and our plan to hold multi-generational listening circles.
As an initial step, the listening circles will not focus on a single issue. They will be a chance to share what is on our hearts and minds at this time, deeply listening to each other before further steps in the discernment process are taken. Outside facilitators who have experience with listening circles will assist us in this meaningful work.
We want to reiterate that no decisions have been made regarding the stained-glass window, nor has a timetable been set for when decisions will be made. Rather than allowing our differences to push us further apart, we hope to practice unity just as Christ calls all of us to love one another no matter our beliefs or affiliations. It is important for us to practice the art of discernment in a different way than the world often does. This is what it means to be together in the Kin-dom.
As a Session, we strongly believe this is an important time to come together. We ask that you prioritize this time of reconnection and discernment.
Please click the date and time below to register for what works for you. Please sign up for each individual, even if you and your family or loved one both plan on attending. Each circle will be limited to twenty people to allow for adequate time for everyone to share. We will be happy to schedule additional listening sessions as needed.
