First Quarter Message from Trustees and Stewardship

Fellow members,

In January, we shared with you our 2022 Narrative Budget, focusing on WPC’s mission with numbers to support our ministry. There was, and continues to be, enthusiasm for and commitment to every aspect of ministry: carefully planned and inspiring worship services, enthusiastic children and youth programs, a full schedule of older adult programs, avenues for growing in faith together, and partnering with our local and global community. We are grateful for your stewardship of time, talent, and treasure.

Below is the first quarter report, March 31, 2022.

Our wonderful staff has kept actual expenses under budget by $27,000. On the income side, shown under Other Income Actual, we were blessed by a one-time deduction of $77,000 from the Payroll Protection Program. As to Pledges and Gifts, we are under budget by about $55,000. We need your giving throughout the year to fulfill Westminster’s many active missions. If you are able to help catch up on giving during the second quarter, we would be most grateful. For information on the various ways that you can give and set up automatic giving options, please see our website at https://westminstergr.org/support-our-ministry/. Thank you all for faithfully giving toward your pledges and supporting our ministries.

In addition to monitoring our operations budget, the Trustees are responsible for maintaining the churches property.  Current projects include repairing brickwork on the Weston Street side (phase 2 of 3); installing a parking gate in our lot; and repairing roofing, interior walls, and the west door in the Narthex. With these repairs and your help with timely giving, we will build a solid foundation for 2022 and the years to come.

All in together with hope,

Stuart Atwater, Trustee President

Cheryl Bremer, Elder for Stewardship
