Guest Preacher: Rev. Alonzo Johnson

We are excited to welcome Rev. Alonzo Johnson as our guest preacher in worship October 24! He will be joining us after leading the youth retreat at Camp Henry on October 22 and 23 with our youth staff and leaders.

Alonzo Johnson is the national coordinator for the Self-Development of People Program (SDOP) of the Presbyterian Church (USA). SDOP is a branch of the PCUSA’s Compassion, Peace and Justice Ministry. He is also the convener of the Educate A Child, Transform the World initiative. Alonzo has more than 25 years of experience specializing in urban, youth, education, creative arts, anti-racism and social justice ministries. He served an urban congregation in Philadelphia, PA, and worked as a volunteer chaplain for 9 years at Luther Luckett Correctional Facility in LaGrange, KY. Even though he works for the PCUSA, he is here with us on his own because of his passion and personal commitment to youth, young adults, and youth leaders in the church.
