New Interim Lead Youth Coordinator: Christy Roosien

We’re excited to welcome Christy Roosien as our new Interim Lead Youth Coordinator! She will work with youth coordinators Sara Zallar and Hannah Nelson to lead the youth program. Here’s a note and more info from Christy:

“I am excited to be back at Westminster working with the youth and leaders during this interim season! Westminster has been home for many years. I grew up at WPC and youth group was an important part of my middle and high school years. I have also served in varying capacities within the Youth Ministry program, from being a volunteer leader, an interim high school coordinator, and serving on staff for seven years as the Co-Minister to Youth with my husband Nate. Most recently, I joined the Youth Committee last year, went on the summer middle school trip to Noordhouse Dunes, and have been volunteering as a leader this fall. In my free time I enjoy getting outside as a family with our two sons; Dillan who is an eighth grader and Duncan who is in third. We love hiking, biking, camping, skiing/snowboarding, and taking fun road trips. We have a Blue Heeler named Reuben who likes to keep us all in check. I also enjoy fiber arts, so you might find me working on a knitting project or working with wool of some sorts. I care about the youth of this church and of our community, their faith development, and their connection to the world beyond our doors. Our youth have been through big changes and very difficult times these past years. It is my hope in coming “together” this year, that we may discover and rekindle our fellowship, grow and be challenged in our faith journeys, and find ways to live out God’s “kin-dom” in all that we do. Youth Ministry doesn’t just happen on Sundays. Youth Ministry happens all the time. May we join together in this journey and let God’s Spirit lead the way.”
