Westminster Mission Partnerships Update

Mission Partneship at Westminster Update – one of the organizations that Westminster annually contributes to through the Mission Partnership committee is the Haiti Nursing Foundation (HNF). HNF improves health in the Republic of Haiti by supporting quality nursing education, primarily at the Faculté des Sciences Infirmières de l’Université Episcopale d’Haïti (FSIL), located in Léogâne, Haiti. There are 117 nurses per 10,000 individuals in the US but there are only 1.8 nurses per 10,000 in Haiti, so the need for this program is significant. Westminster is grateful to have the resources avaialable to support the foundation with our 2024 contributon of $4,000, which will cover the expenses for an individual nursing scholarship. (As we have seen in the recent news, the situation in Haiti is dire with limited resources and the increase in gang violence. We have been in contact with the board members at HNF and have been assured that the students and faculty at FSIL are safe, at least for now.)
