Wednesday, April 9, 2025!
At the March luncheon we had announced Dave Warners and Gail Heffner would be our speakers for the April lunch. Unfortunately, they had to cancel so we made other arrangements for our April program.
Glenn Bulthuis Jr. will be presenting “Exploring the Psalms through Faith, Music, and Song.”
The Psalms is a series of conversations between David and God. Some of these conversations are joyful (“Let Everything that Has Breath Praise the Lord” Psalm150) and some of these conversations are anxious and filled with anguish (“My God, My God, why have you forsaken me? Psalm 22).
So, the Psalms cover the full range of human emotions.
Glenn will be talking about the Psalms, the songs of David and the broader question of how music impacts us spiritually and how God uses music to touch us spiritually and emotionally.
A little about Glenn Bulthuis Jr. – He was born in Los Angeles and grew up with the music of the Beatles, Bob Dylan, James Taylor, and others. He attended Calvin in the 1970’s and has performed 45 years of concerts in Michigan, Los Angeles and elsewhere. He has recorded 7 albums of original material. His more recent album “Gloryland” was a gospel album inspired by the music of Motown and Black Gospel.
