Ever looked at a hallway, building, coffee mug, church corner, or random little moment and thought, that would make a neat sketch? That’s basically urban sketching.
Come join Arya Jadhav for a relaxed intro session where we’ll talk about what urban sketching actually is, how to simplify what you see, and how to start capturing spaces and everyday moments without overthinking it.
We will be meeting Thursday, June 4 at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Westminster to learn the basics. On Saturday, June 13 at 10:00 a.m. we will travel offsite together to put the skills to practice. Led by Arya Jadhav.
No art experience needed whatsoever. Seriously. Wobbly lines are part of the charm. This is about capturing the vibe, creating memories, and learning to notice the beauty in ordinary spaces — not making hyper-realistic masterpieces.
Bring whatever supplies you already have lying around. Fancy materials are optional. Tiny existential crisis over perspective lines is included free of charge.
Suggested Supplies (We will have extra supplies available for those unable to bring their own.)
• Sketchbook or notebook
• Pen or pencil
• Eraser
• Optional: colored pencils, markers, watercolor set, or brush pens
